Are Kerry too strong for opposing teams?

With the league ending the way it did, it sets the summer up just nicely. In the football there were impressive campaigns for Derry, Galway and Donegal in Division 1, while in the second tier Monaghan and Westmeath will have something to say on the shake up of this year’s All Ireland Football Championship.

2007: A year in Irish sport

JANUARY – A massive year in Irish sport gets under way.  The national soccer team are battling to qualify for Euro 2008, following a disastrous start to the campaign. Manager Steve Staunton is hoping to revitalise the squad and bring Ireland to Euro 2008. The rugby team are being touted as the best ever and possible world champions.

GPA resolves strike with the Gov, GAA

Finally the play for pay issue was resolved late last month with the three parties involved, the GAA, the GPA and the government over intercounty players.
