Reviewer: Craig Jay Gallagher Light Gun games are one of the last remnants of a bygone age valiantly struggling for some sort of relevance in a market where the novelty of pointing a piece of plastic at your TV has worn off.

REVIEW: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Reviewer: Craig Jay Gallagher Gran Turismo 5  promises to be the finest real world driving simulator, and chances are that it will deliver upon this promise when released. Till then we have Gran Turismo Prologue which can only be described as a teaser. While its absolutely amazing to look at and be technically awe inspiring it's all just a little underwhelming.

Student game developers to invade space

IRISH students have been developing versions of the classic Space Invaders for an internationally-judged competition.

XNA Ireland Challenge 2008 is set to take place this Wednesday at Tipperary Institutes’ Thurles Campus.
The students’ games have to include at least three levels. But unlike the original 2D arcade game, the competition is also allow 3D creations.

The contest is being backed by games companies including Microsoft, Sega, Rare, as well as the Dublin based DemonWare. XNA is Microsoft’s cross-platform system developing games on both Xbox 360 and Windows. For more see www.xna.ie.
