Union of Students appoints new head
The Union of Students in Ireland, has selected a new president. The appointment makes it one of the first organisations in Ireland to welcome an ethnic leader.
Hamidreza Khodabakhshi (picture right, with megaphone) has been named USI president, he takes up the task of improving the image of the union and getting its message heard.
sKhodabakhshi said: "I am excited to be president of aunion that works tooth and nail to defend high quality, publicly funded higher education."
In addition to its new president, the union has also moved to a new set of offices, which include expanded space for campaign operations.
According to the union, over the last year over 250,000 union members have given both funds and time in efforts to secure the move of offices. Students can seek advice from the offices on the First Floor, 3-4 St Agnes Road, Dublin 12, or they can visit the USI website at usi.ie.
